Tina Kotek supports a moratorium on new data centers until protections are in place to protect Oregonians from increased energy bills and threats to clean air and water. Tina stopped the state from selling land to a new data center development, and she signed a bill that requires data centers to pay their fair share so the cost of their electricity isn’t passed on to other customers and residential ratepayers.
Standing Up To Trump
While Trump has pushed for more data centers regardless of the cost to residential customers and impact on water supply and drinking water quality, Tina is fighting to hold data centers accountable.

Sen. Christine Drazan
Christine Drazan voted against a bill that requires data centers to pay their fair share of electricity costs, paving the way for massive hikes in utility bills for hardworking Oregonians. Her so-called “Drazan Plan” does not call for a moratorium on building new data centers or rolling back tax incentives for data centers. When asked about how she would approach data centers as Governor, Christine Drazan said, “I don’t want to unwind any existing incentives.” Drazan has voted for “significant tax breaks” for data centers.
Following The MAGA Agenda
As data centers have drawn scrutiny for driving up electricity prices for residents and using water families need, Trump and Drazan have stood with data centers, not impacted communities and ratepayers. When Trump said that the “only reason that communities throughout the U.S.A. should not want Data Centers is if they want to end up being backwards and poor,” Drazan was silent.
